Chemical Peels

NEW: Medical Grade Chemical Peels

Rhonda Allison Skin Care

A chemical peel is a technique which involves the application of a variety of chemical solutions to remove the damaged outer layers of dead skin cells from the skin’s surface.  It is extremely beneficial for many skin conditions such as hyperpigmentation, rosacea, acne, sun damage, and photo aging.  By removing the build-up of dead skin cells and stimulating the regenerative process, you will notice marked improvements in the formation of wrinkles and fine lines, texture and tone of the skin, hydration, reduced pore size, clearing of blemishes and more balanced oil production and an overall healthier skin appearance.

Chemical Peels are classified in three different types differentiated by healing time, and require an in-person consultation to discuss goals, downtime, and post care.

We also recommend a 60 Minute Corrective Facial two weeks before your first peel with us to better assess skin sensitivities and possible allergies.

Please note that ALL Chemical Peels require the use of Post Care, and thorough Skin History documentation. To help answer some of your questions we have a FAQ page or you may call us during business hours.

All Rhonda Allison treatment procedures are considered superficial; they do not penetrate beyond the epidermis or papillary dermis.  They are not to be confused with physician-strength peels that affect the reticular dermis.

Progressive Peel $80+

This peel removes the outer layer of the stratum corneum, which is also the topmost layer of the epidermis. It produces little to no visible exfoliation, characterized by mild flaking. This can be best described as a gentle yet refining peel. Progressive peels can be repeated as often as once a week, and are great in a series of six.

Mid-Depth Peel $95+

Targets the intra-epidermal layer, skin exfoliation occurs within two to three days of treatment. Light flaking may occur, similar to that of a sunburn peel. Rejuvenates skin with minimal downtime.

Deep Peel $125+

Reaches the deepest intra-epidermal layers where the skin peels in large segments. The skin becomes brown and crusted prior to considerable peeling, occurring three to four days after application. The typical recovery period is 7 to 10 days. A deep peel restores and renews skin with the most dramatic results.

Our peels stimulate dramatic changes in the skin. Results vary from mild to deep exfoliation, smoothing, lightening and brightening of acne scars or pigmentation, healing blemishes or pre-mature aging. Rejuvenate and stimulate new cells and collagen production; vastly improve elasticity and the overall appearance of your skin.

There are specific instructions to be followed after your skin peel – this is as important as the peel itself.  Post care will include occlusive healing balms, epidermal growth factor (cell renewal and wound repair), calming, soothing topicals to reduce itching and inflammation, and always sun screen!

When the skin peel is completed and your professional has determined the skin is healed, daily skin care is essential.  The most important part of a home care routine is a cleanser and a sunblock.  Next in importance is a supportive cell rejuvenator.  These are the basics.  Additional specialty products, such as pumice and buffing washes, antioxidants, eye serums, nighttime moisturizers, AHAs, ascorbic acid, retinol, enzymes, masks, and topical correctives may be added to enhance and maintain results.
